In 1996, I graduated from the training program at the University of California in Santa Barbara with a degree in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology. Through my training, I developed the philosophy that it is not possible to draw a distinction between the populations served and the skills needed by Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychologists. Rather, I believe the interdependence of social systems requires that all psychologists be familiar with the influences and workings of school systems, patterns of normal development, and aspects of psychopathology. This philosophy allows me the opportunity to treat a myriad of people with a greater understanding and empathy for their problems. I work in conjunction with the many communities and systems that are impacting individuals’ and families’ lives, e.g. teachers, school administrators, grandparents, ex-partners and church groups.

Clair Mellenthin, LCSW holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Throughout her career, she has focused on providing therapy to children, teens, and their families. Before joining Wasatch Family Therapy as the Director of Child and Adolescent Services, she worked in a successful private practice. Ms. Mellenthin is a sought after supervisor, training graduate students and interns in play therapy, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Utah MSW program, and Utah Valley University. In addition to being an experienced play therapist and teacher, Ms. Mellenthin frequently presents professional play therapy and family therapy trainings and appears on local and national TV and radio as an expert on children and family issues.
Jared Andes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a graduate of the University of Utah. Throughout his career Jared has focused on children, teens, and families who experience a wide variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, autism spectrum, selective mutism, and more. Jared currently works in private practice at Full Spectrum Counseling and as an Emergency Room Care Manager for Intermountain Health Care. Jared previously worked for a non-profit based in Orem, Utah, where served as the licensed clinical social worker for the agency including the Early Intervention and Early Head Start programs as we as the clinical director of the Child and Family Mental Health program.

Statement
I specialize in treatment of trauma in children, teens and adults. I combine a variety of treatment modalities to develop a treatment plan for each individual. In working with adults with a history of early childhood traumas, I have also targeted and successfully treated their related symptoms including dissociative symptoms, depression, anxiety and attachment disorders. I have also enjoyed tailoring the treatment to the needs of the individuals with special needs, whether it be those on the spectrum (ASD) or those with impairment in language or/and cognitive development.
