This course is designed for those who would like to learn more about practicing play therapy through telehealth. Fun and exciting interventions geared towards teens and children will be demonstrated. This training will be beneficial for new and experienced therapists. The approach is an integrative play therapy process using social development and mastery functions from the powers of play. Attendees will learn to use online games and facilitate virtual play to help strengthen the therapeutic relationship, build empathy and increase the client’s emotional regulation skills. Molly will explain the benefits of implementing bibliotherapy and game play therapy and offer specific examples. Finally, attendees will learn to utilize a virtual playroom that allows clinicians to access online games, art, pretend play and directive interventions all in one organized virtual space. Attendees will be offered some free printable interventions and green-screen backgrounds for their future telehealth sessions.
