A Play Therapy Intervention:

bubbles-and-feelingsFeelings and Bubbles

Blow bubbles and explain that feelings are a lot like bubbles.  Some bubbles pop quickly and others last a long time.  Some feelings come and go quickly and others can last longer.  Some bubbles are big and some bubbles are small.  That’s how feelings are:  some are big and some are small.  “When ….(state client’s situation), some of our feelings can be big feelings and they last a long time.”  Process and let child blow bubbles for a little while.
